# Privacy and cookies

> There are no ads on this site and I don't sell your personal data. Analytics tools only use cookies if you allow them.

## Data controller

This site belongs to Furkan Köykıran. For any privacy question or request: furkankoykiran [at] gmail [dot] com.

## What data is processed

The following tools may run when you visit the site. Analytics tools only run after you choose a cookie preference, and only as far as you allow.

| Tool | Purpose | Cookies | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | Visit statistics | `_ga`, `_ga_*` | 14 months |
| Microsoft Clarity | Usability, heatmaps, session recordings | `_clck`, `_clsk` | 1 year / 1 day |
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | Cookieless page view counts | None | — |
| GitHub Pages (hosting) | Serving the site, security logs | None | Per GitHub's policy |

Unless you consent, Google Analytics sets no cookies and only sends cookieless, identifier-free signals (Google Consent Mode). Microsoft Clarity's cookies also stay off.

## Legal basis

For analytics cookies the legal basis is **your explicit consent** (KVKK art. 5/1, GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). Cookieless counting and hosting logs rely on legitimate interest in running and securing the site.

## International transfers

Google, Microsoft, Cloudflare and GitHub may process data on servers in the United States. This transfer relies on your explicit consent under KVKK art. 9.

## Cookies
Your choice is stored for 6 months in a first-party cookie called `fk_consent`. It only exists to remember your choice and is shared with the blog and project pages on this domain. You can change your choice at any time with the **Cookie preferences** link at the bottom of every page, or delete cookies in your browser.

## Your rights

Under KVKK art. 11 and the GDPR you can ask whether your data is processed, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to processing. To withdraw consent, change your cookie preferences. For anything else, write to the address above.
